Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to see Chanukah on the road.

Our target
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we built in
- Reduced motion: if your device asks for reduced motion, the jigsaw, turntable, photo ring, route map, and photo sphere stop moving and show still layouts instead.
- Keyboard: the photo turntable turns with the arrow keys. The photo ring has previous and next buttons and turns with the arrow keys. The route map lists every stop as text. The photo sphere turns with the arrow keys and opens a photo with Enter, and the full photo list is always available to screen readers.
- Moving content: the turntable has a pause button, and the photo ring pauses when you hover over it or move focus into it.
- Video: the video of Rabbi Avrohom Chayempour never plays on its own and has a full text transcript on the home page. The short clip on the gallery page has no sound and a pause button.
- Every photo has a text description.
Known gaps
The video does not yet have synchronized captions. The transcript covers the same words in the meantime.
